Grace Louise

My Northern Irish seaside hometown, lies in a valley between cliffs of limestone to the south and basalt to the north, representing to me Ying and Yang, with the houses along the promenade a riot of cheery colour, the weather dramatic and constantly changing,

My Nanna was a local ‘wise woman’ who read tea leaves, charmed off people’s warts and as my Dad would say, “was a Witch at the guessing”. I’ve followed her in her footsteps as a Healing Practitioner, using the same space of consciousness when I’m working with the Clay..

Growing up there, I always felt a spiritual connection with the Sea and the Earth and now, as an Artist I take inspiration from that connection and my Hometown, which shapes my ceramic work.

Clay is constantly moving throughout the many processes it is subject to: building, drying, initial firing, glazing, second firing and the cooling processes throughout.

I do not necessarily seek to master the clay, I seek to allow the clay to determine its own will combined with mine in a collaborative spirit. I work with different clays, however Porcelain is the one that resonates most with my Soul.

My healing energy goes into this handmade art, all the pieces have a lovely energy to them and represent inclusivity, balance and light.
Each piece is dedicated to ‘Love, Light and Peace’
